Membership – Steadfast Community Church

Becoming a covenant member of a local church is important for believers to obey God’s Word in submitting to elders (Hebrews 13:17), doing the one another’s of scripture (Heb. 10:23-25), being held accountable (Matt. 18:15-17), and growing into maturity in the Lord (Col. 1:28). During a membership class, we go over the Biblical view of church membership and also make clear what it means to be a covenant member of this local body. Register below for the class:

The membership application is for those who have attended a membership class and wish to continue to pursue membership at Steadfast Community Church. It is also a means to know you better and inform you about the responsibilities of membership. Church membership is limited to those individuals who show evidence of true conversion to Christ and have the maturity to undertake the responsibilities of formal membership.

1. Do you believe the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and its doctrine to be the perfect and only true doctrine of salvation?

2. Do you confess that because of your sinfulness you abhor and humble yourself before God, and that you trust for salvation not in yourself but in Jesus Christ alone?

3. Do you acknowledge Jesus Christ as your sovereign Lord and do you promise, in reliance on the grace of God, to serve Him with all that is in you, to forsake the world, to mortify sin, and to lead a godly life?

4. Do you agree to submit in the Lord to the doctrine and governance of this church and, in case you should be found delinquent, to heed its discipline?
